A case for bespoke furniture
Custom furniture is one of the most powerful ways to elevate a home. It allows a space to feel intentional, refined, and truly personal, designed not just to fit the room, but to complement the way you live. For one of my recent projects, I designed a sculptural gloss-red pedestal table base that became the anchor of the entire space. Its proportions, curves, and bold finish were shaped by the room’s architecture and the client’s lifestyle. The colour was inspired by a vintage Ligne Roset chair the clients already owned, creating a subtle and meaningful connection within the room.
The process behind a bespoke piece is far more considered than a simple sketch. It begins with understanding the flow of the home, refining proportions through mock-ups, and collaborating closely with skilled local makers to achieve the perfect finish. The result is a piece that carries intention in every detail, something you can’t purchase off the shelf, and that adds depth, identity, and a sense of luxury to the home.
